Interactive BINGO Design

Designing for Interaction

Interactive BINGO app

Project Goal: To practice interactive and visual design fundamentals i.e. gestures, interactions, UI patterns, consistency, grid, typography, color, placement, scale, images, icons, motion, as it applies to interactive design to create a well-designed interactive interface.

This project started with researching the history and rules of BINGO and brainstorming my own ideas for an interactive BINGO game. The image on the left is the sketch of the BINGO concept I decided to work with for this project.

These are some of the pages that became the final app.

Wireframing the app

The next step in the process was turning the BINGO game concept into an app. My original concept changed slightly in this phase. I originally was creating a BINGO game you could play on a walk or a hike, capturing images, videos, and/or audio to fill in the “BINGO board.” When I began designing digitally, I expanded the concept to a BINGO app a user could use to save memories while traveling.

The general idea and function is to pick a BINGO category that fits the activity the user is doing and fill out the board with memories from that activity.

Interactive Prototype

The final phase to this project was to take all the pages of the app I designed and create an interactive prototype that displays how the app would function. The video below shows a walkthrough of all the interactions a user would have in the Roadtrip BINGO app.
